November 14 - December 5, 2010 - Arts & Crafts Coalition Holiday Show & Sale - This three-week show and sale of original juried artwork by members of the Carteret County Arts and Crafts Coalition opens each year in alternating locations. Local artists combine their work to create the show for Christmas shopping opportunities and, because of the outstanding works, it is truly an event not to be missed. December 3 - 5, 2010 - Core Sound Waterfowl Weekend - The first weekend in December, this event attracts thousands of visitors to Harkers Island to enjoy the cultural heritage that surrounds waterfowling and fishing in Harkers Island and the Core Sound region of North Carolina. Food events are ticketed, exhibits and entertainment at the Museum are free. For more information call (252)728-1500.

December 4 - 5, 2010 - Core Sound Decoy Festival - The annual show and sale of waterfowl carvings of the Core Sound Decoy Carvers Guild, Harkers Island. The festival features a decoy and wildlife art auction, retriever demonstrations, children's decoy painting, great food and the World Champion Loon Calling contest. The festival benefits the Core Sound Decoy Carver's Guild and Harkers Island Elementary School and is the area's largest off-season event. All events are located at the Harkers Island School. December 4, 2010 - Crystal Coast Christmas Flotilla - On the Morehead City and Beaufort waterfronts. Yachts and workboats decorated for Christmas organize on Morehead City Waterfront where parade starts at 5:30 PM. Arrival in Beaufort is 6:15 PM, awards follow at the Watercraft Center, across from NC Maritime Museum, Beaufort. For more information call (252) 728-1638.

December 4 - 9, 2010 - Festival of Trees - Sponsored by Hospice of Carteret County! Over 50 beautifully decorated trees, great entertainment all week and visits from Santa. Held at the Crystal Coast Civic Center. For more information call (252)808-6085.

December 10 - 12, 2010 - Sneads Ferry Winter Holiday Festival - Come celebrate the holiday season in Sneads Ferry, NC, lighting of the trees, breakfast with Santa and Christmas craft show. Held at the Sneads Ferry Community Center, 126 Park Lane, Sneads Ferry. For more information call (910)327-3335.

December 11, 2010 - Morehead City Christmas Parade - One of the largest Christmas parades in Eastern North Carolina is in downtown Morehead City. Parade starts at 11:00 AM on Arendell Street, downtown Morehead City. Entry information: Morehead City Jaycees, (252)726-8872.

December 11, 2010 - Breakfast with Santa - Children of all ages join Santa for a Christmas story and have breakfast with him afterwards. 10:00am, Emerald Isle Parks & Recreation, 7500 Emerald Drive. Admission fee is one unwrapped gift per child or 5 canned goods per child. You MUST pre-register by Friday, December 11th at 5pm to attend.
